LYSCWF
believes that early healthcare intervention during childhood is essential for
mental and physical development as malnutrition in early childhood may seriously
affect a child’s brain development. In view of this, the Foundation proactively
joined hands with NGOs, including the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Hong Kong
Youth Women’s Christian Association and Po Leung Kuk, to launch the one-year
Nutrition for Preschool Children project from September 2013 to September 2014. Our project funds were
granted to three service initiatives which provided nutritious meals for low-income
families with pre-school children. Moreover, a series of dietary education
activities, such as healthcare seminars and workshops as well as cooking
classes were arranged to share ideas of nutritious menus and positive parenting
skills.
